2 Killed and 2 Injured in Fiery Car Crash on Northeast 139th Street
CLARK COUNTY, WA (October 6, 2018) – Two people died and two others were injured in a solo-car crash on Northeast 182nd Avenue, late Saturday night. The deceased victims were later identified as 34-year-old Aaron Jones and 19-year-old Isabella Huyck of Tumwater.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the fatal collision took place near Northeast 139th Street, just before 11:30 PM.
As per reports, Jones was driving a 2008 Toyota Scion XB westbound on NE 139th when he ran a stop sign at the intersection with NE 182nd and crashed into a nearby tree. It was estimated that the car was going at around 50 mph at the time of the collision. Due to the impact of the crash, the car became fully engulfed in flames. Huyck, Jones, Lindsay Winter, and Derek Martin were inside of the vehicle.
Clark County deputies and firefighters arrived at the scene after receiving reports about a serious accident in the area. Jones and Huyck were pronounced dead on the scene by emergency responders. Martin was the only conscious passenger and sustained minor injuries. Winter suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital in critical condition.

Investigators believe that speed was definitely a factor in the crash, but other possible factors such as impairment remain under investigation. Toxicology results were also pending as of Monday. No further details have been disclosed to the public at this time, as the investigation continues.
