Speeding Rider Dies after Crashing into Tractor-Trailer on 215 Freeway in Perris
PERRIS, CA (June 1, 2019) – A motorcyclist died after a collision with a tractor-trailer Saturday evening in Perris.
To begin, the crash happened around 7:55 p.m., on southbound 215 Freeway. First responders arrived near Ethanac Road shortly after.
Officials found the rider with critical injuries down in the roadway upon arrival. His burning motorcycle was also located nearby and firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.
CPR was performed CPR on the rider, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on scene due to the impact. He was later identified as Aaron Barton, 28, of Murrieta.
Furthermore, authorities also say the driver of the tractor-trailer refused medical treatment.
Preliminary reports stated that the rider was traveling at a high rate of speed when it slammed into the tractor-trailer, causing it to burst into flames as a result.
The crash temporarily closed the southbound lanes of 215 Freeway for the on-scene investigation. Lanes were reopened by 10:37 p.m.
