Old Man Fatally Injured after San Jose Bicycle Crash on Capewood Drive
SAN JOSE, CA (November 4, 2019) – A 91-year-old man died following a bicycle crash on Capewood Drive on Tuesday, October 29.
According to the police, the man rode a bicycle north on Morrill Avenue then he made a left turn toward Capewood Drive, against a red light. That allegedly put him in the path of a southbound 2016 Toyota RAV4.
The driver of the Toyota was unable to avoid the crash and hit the bicyclist, police said.
Paramedics transported the bicyclist to the hospital and he died on Wednesday, police stated. His identity was not yet released pending his formal identification and notification of his loved ones.
The driver in the incident is not suspected of being impaired, police said.
