Girl Suffers Leg Injuries after Dockless Scooter Crashes into Tree near 42nd Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 1, 2018) – A young girl was injured Monday evening, following an electric scooter crash on Dwight Street.
According to officials with the San Diego Police Department, the incident took place at about 7:35 PM in the 4200 block of Dwight Street, near 42nd Street. The girl and her 16-year-old sister were riding on a dockless electric scooter, with the younger girl closest to the handlebars.
A short time later, the girl’s sister fell off the scooter, causing it to lose control and crash into a tree.
The girl suffered a fractured femur and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and medical evaluation. Updates on her current medical condition were not immediately available. Meanwhile, the girl’s sister did not sustain injuries in the crash.
No other information has been disclosed to the public at this time, as the investigation continues.
