9 People, Including 2 Children Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 76

 
Oceanside, CA (August 31, 2020) – On Sunday, nine people including 2 children were injured in a two-car crash on State Route 76.
 
Oceanside Fire Battalion Chief Jessamyn Specht said the tragic crash happened just before 11:45 p.m. on the highway at Douglas Drive.
 
Immediately, firefighters and paramedics came to the scene and found a sedan and a pickup. Both vehicles were with significant front-end damage, Specht also said.
 
Firefighters freed one person in each vehicle.
 
In total, six ambulances transported eight victims, six adults, and two children. Medics rushed them to hospitals for treatment.
 
The authorities have not made the victims’ identities available as of the moment.
 
Meanwhile, a few minutes later, someone called 911 and reported an injured man in a 7-Eleven parking lot near the State Route 76 and Douglas Drive intersection.
 
Rescuers also rushed him to a hospital for evaluation of a complaint of pain. Investigators determined the male victim walked away from the crash scene.
 
The authorities are currently investigating the crash.
