1 Dead in Santa Clara Bicycle Crash on El Camino Real near Kiely Boulevard
SANTA CLARA, CA (November 9, 2020) – Thursday afternoon, an 84-year-old bicyclist died in an accident on El Camino Real near Kiely Boulevard.
The crash between a bicycle and a pickup truck happened just before 2:00 p.m. The incident took place on El Camino Real near Kiely Boulevard.
When the officers arrived, they located the rider with significant injuries. Afterward, they transported her to a hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
At this time, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office hasn’t disclosed the identity of the victim due to pending family notification.
Meanwhile, the investigation determined that the rider headed west in the eastbound lanes of El Camino Real. Then, she crashed with a red 2010 Ford Ranger, making a turn onto the road from an adjacent parking lot.
After the crash, the pickup truck stayed at the scene and helped with the investigation. Furthermore, the police confirmed that alcohol, drugs, and distracted driving didn’t play a role in the incident.
