82-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Collision on Warner Avenue [Santa Ana, CA]

Elderly Man Struck and Killed by Vehicle near South Wright Street

 
SANTA ANA, CA (January 18, 2019) – A man was killed late Friday evening following a pedestrian collision on Warner Avenue. The identity of the 82-year-old victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
 
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the incident happened near South Wright Street, at about 10:42 PM. A pedestrian was standing in the eastbound lanes when he was struck by a vehicle.
 
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and attempted to resuscitate the severely injured man. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 10:49 PM. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained to render aid and cooperated with investigators.
 
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal collision and to identify possible contributing factors.
