80-Year-Old Woman Killed in Deadly Pedestrian Accident on Atlantic Avenue near Anaheim Street

 
Long Beach, CA (March 20, 2021) – On Friday, an 80-year-old woman was struck and killed in an accident on Atlantic Avenue.
 
The fatal accident occurred about 3:15 p.m. in the 1300 block area, near Anaheim Street.
 
Apparently, the victim was squatting in a stall next to the 2007 Dodge Nitro. At the same time, a 45-year-old male SUV driver reversed out of a stall and drove toward the exit.
 
The involved driver called 911 to report the crash and stayed with the woman until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived.
 
Responders immediately took her to a hospital where she died of her injuries.
 
Moreover, authorities withheld the deceased’s identity pending notification of her next of kin.
 
The involved driver cooperated with the investigation. Officers said neither impairment nor distracted driving were factors to the incident.
