Juan del Toro Arrested in Friant Road Fatal Crash
Fresno County, CA (November 14, 2021) – On Friday, an 8-year-old girl died while officers arrested 51-year-old Juan Del Toro in a crash on Friant Road.
The rescue team responded to the scene at about 10 p.m. north of Willow Avenue.
Investigators said a northbound Toyota SUV was driven by a 22-year-old woman. Reports said she became the victim of a domestic violence incident by Del Toro, her male passenger.
The woman pulled off onto the shoulder as the domestic incident continued.
Moreover, the 8-year-old girl in the backseat ran out of the SUV and walked directly into an oncoming vehicle’s path. Reports said there was a heavy fog condition at that time.
The second vehicle’s driver reported the crash incident to the CHP and remained on scene while being investigated.
Officers said the driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs when the accident happened.
Meanwhile, the authorities arrested Toro for domestic violence charges, and booked him into the Fresno County Jail.
They also arrested the the woman driving the SUV for misdemeanor DUI.
They later released her to a responsible party.
Luckily, the 2-year-old girl in the backseat of the SUV did not suffer injuries in the accident. They also transferred her to the responsible party.
Officers are still investigating this fatal crash.
