Fatal DUI Collision on Highway 12
Oakville, WA (December 18, 2021) – On Thursday, an 8-year-old girl lost her life in a two-vehicle DUI crash on Highway 12.
The Washington State Patrol responded to the crash scene minutes after 8:30 p.m. at the intersection with Pearson Road.
Investigators said that a 31-year-old Oakville woman was westbound on the highway with her daughter. She crossed the center line and struck a big rig that was hauling cars.
The woman’s vehicle went upside down in a deep ditch full of water.
Immediately, the emergency responders rushed the 8-year-old girl to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma, where she later died.
Meanwhile, the officers took the woman to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries.
Similarly, the rescue team rushed the big rig’s driver to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.
Moreover, the authorities have not yet taken the woman into custody but they will charge her DUI once her injuries are treated.
