Pursuit Suspect Causes Crash on Mission Hills Court in San Marcos
SAN MARCOS, CA (October 4, 2019) – A child was injured in a crash during a police pursuit Friday evening in San Marcos, authorities said.
Just before 10:00 p.m., witnesses called the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report an aggressive driver. Deputies located the driver near San Marcos Boulevard and Mission Road and tried to stop him. But the person behind the wheel did not pull over and a pursuit began.
A short time later, the suspect crashed into another car near the entrance of Mission Hills High School at Mission Hills Court and Mission Road.
Arriving paramedics found an 8-year-old child inside the victim’s car. They took the child to a hospital after complaining of back pain.
A driver who initiated the pursuit with deputies was later arrested.
Authorities are still investigating the crash to determine liability.
