Child Hospitalized after Bike Crash near 19th Avenue
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (December 7, 2018) – On Friday afternoon, an 8-year-old boy was severely injured in a bicycle accident on Lawton Street. The boy’s identity has yet to be released to the public.
Authorities reported that the accident took place around 3:00 PM near 19th Avenue. The young bicyclist was riding his bike on the crosswalk when an women driving southbound on 19th Ave struck him.
Paramedics arrived shortly after and transported the child to a nearby hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries. The boy’s current medical condition has not been disclosed.
It is unknown if alcohol and drugs were contributing factors in the accident. The female driver’s identity is still unknown, and San Francisco Police officials have not shared any further details of the incident, as the investigation continues.
