South Los Angeles, CA (June 05, 2020) – On Wednesday night, multiple vehicles crashed on Main Street, leaving 8 people, including 2 police officers, injured in South LA.
The incident happened at the crossing of Main Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at around 10 pm, according to the official report.
Rescuers freed one LAPD cop trapped in the wreckage, while the other officer remained seriously injured.
Then, they were both rushed to the hospital in critical and serious conditions.
AIR7 HD showed the police vehicle seriously damaged after colliding with a tow truck. LAPD reported that the tow truck ran a red light, then hit the police car, who were there responding to a backup call.
Paramedics attended to the truck driver and sent him to a hospital.
According to reports, 2 other vehicles were also involved in the crash. Debris littered the road of the crash site on Main Street. Meanwhile, other victims suffered light injuries.
As of this moment, the current condition of those injured is unknown.
