77-Year-Old Westmorland Man Dies in Aten Road Fatal Crash [Imperial, CA]

Imperial, CA (February 15, 2022) On Sunday, a 77-year-old man from Westmorland died in a fatal crash on Aten Road.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says that the fatal collision happened around 8:20 a.m. just east of Forrester Road.

Moreover, the car driven by the 77-year-old man heading east on Aten Road drifted the centerline.

Consequently, the vehicle collided head-on with Carlos Lopez-Merendon’s vehicle.

Lopez-Merendon from Imperial was not hurt due to the crash, however, the Westmorland driver died due to the collision.

The CHP is investigating the crash and has not released the name of the deceased.
