Driver Dies in Midland Rear-End Crash
Midland, TX (July 13, 2024) – A 2016 Chevy Cruz driver, 73-year-old Tommy Palmer, was killed in a Highway 81 collision Friday morning.
It was about 7:52 a.m. on July 12 when the fatal collision happened in the 8700 block area.
Responding officers removed Palmer from his vehicle and provided life-saving measures. The paramedics then transported Palmer to Midland Memorial Hospital where he was declared deceased.
Investigators determined Palmer suddenly stopped in the westbound lane of the highway and a speeding Peterbilt cement truck rear-ended Palmer’s vehicle.
Troopers are investigating this fatal collision.
