63-Year-Old Man Fatally Injured in Pedestrian Crash on 710 Freeway
SOUTH GATE, CA (March 13, 2018) – A 63-year-old man was struck and killed by a car on a Sunday night, while running across the southbound lanes of I-710.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened in the freeway lanes of I-710, at around 7:25 PM. The man was seen running across the freeway lanes, where he got hit by a Toyota Camry. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The pedestrian’s name remains withheld, pending notification of his family members. He is believed to be a transient; no other information has been provided at this time.
All four lanes of the freeway were shut down for investigation, and later reopened around 10:40 PM that same evening.
