Pickup Truck Crashes into Pole on Larkin Valley Road Killing the Driver
WATSONVILLE, CA (September 3, 2019) – A 71-year-old was killed in a traffic collision Tuesday evening in Watsonville.
The crash happened just after 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of Larkin Valley Road and Xanthus Drive.
According to the CHP, a 2007 Mazda pickup truck was traveling eastbound when for unknown reasons, it crossed over the solid white line of the eastbound road edge and collided into a utility pole.
The driver, who was not wearing his seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased was not immediately available pending family notification.
Authorities did not rule out speed or alcohol as possible contributing factors in the crash.
Further investigation of this incident is underway.
