Bicyclist Hit by Vehicle on Lilac Road in Valley Center, Major Injuries Sustained
VALLEY CENTER, CA (November 23, 2019) – A 71-year-old man was badly injured following a bicycle hit-and-run crash Saturday afternoon in Valley Center.
The crash happened around 12:53 p.m. along Lilac Road, just south of Hideaway Lake Circle.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the bicyclist was traveling north when a vehicle struck him. The impact sent the man onto the ground. Paramedics transported the victim to Palomar Medical Center with major injuries.
The involved vehicle, possibly a gray or silver Toyota 4Runner, continued north along Lilac Road.
CHP officials requested the public’s help in identifying the driver responsible for the crash. Investigators said the vehicle was expected to have damage to its right side.
