Fatal Pedestrian Crash on James Avenue in Redwood City
REDWOOD CITY, CA (December 12, 2019) – A 70-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a SamTrans bus Thursday morning in Redwood City.
The crash happened around 8:47 a.m. at James Avenue and El Camino Real.
The woman was walking in the crosswalk when the bus turning south on El Camino Real from James Avenue struck her, CHP officials said.
Arriving units pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The San Mateo County coroner will release the victim’s identity once family is notified.
Four people on board the bus were not injured.
There is no word on the condition of the bus driver or if any charges are pending.
Police blocked the intersection all Thursday morning. The fatal crash is still under investigation.
