Pasco, WA (July 09, 2021) – On Wednesday, a 70-year-old woman from Kennewick was injured in Road 68 vehicle crash.

The accident happened at around 1:30 p.m. at Interstate 182.

Officers said a 45-year-old Othello man was southbound on Road 68 when the accident happened.

At the same time, the Kennewick woman was exiting the eastbound lane of Interstate 182 at Road 68.

She went into the roadway to merge into traffic in her 2015 Nissan Rouge. That is when the Othello man driving a 2001 Honda Civic, ran a red light and collided into the woman’s vehicle.

Right away, rescuers took the injured woman to Kadlec Regional Medical Center to be treated for her injuries.

Meanwhile, the authorities charged the Othello man for failing to yield the right of way to the Kennewick woman.

Both vehicles were towed away by a local company.

Moreover, officers said impairment from drugs and/or alcohol did not play a factor in this crash.

Always perform simple safety checks before you leave.

Start by inspecting your vehicle’s headlights and turn signals, be sure that both front and rear headlamps are working properly and visible enough a couple of yards away.

Also, take a reading of your tire pressure and make sure you maintain the recommended maximum. While at it, take a peek under your vehicle and ensure there are no loose objects or leaks.
