1 Dead in Los Angeles Pedestrian Accident
LOS ANGELES, CA (November 4, 2019) – A 70-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on 101 Freeway on November 1.
The CHP revealed that the man walked along the No. 5 lane of the 101 Freeway when the car hit and killed him. CHP Officer G. Jimenez said that the pedestrian accident happened at around 1:10 a.m. on the northbound 101 Freeway, south of Gower Street in Hollywood.
The incident involved a 34-year-old Sanger man driving a 2007 Nissan. Following the crash, the driver and his passenger exited the freeway and contacted 911. They went back on the freeway and waited for the CHP’s arrival.
The vehicle occupants didn’t suffer any injury. Meanwhile, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His identity remains unreleased due to pending family notification.
As of this time, it’s still unknown why the man stayed on the freeway. Authorities also ruled out alcohol and drugs as a factor in the collision.
