AC Transit Bus Crash into Home on 10th Street and Market Street in Oakland
Oakland, CA (October 15, 2021) – Friday afternoon, a stolen Toyota was being chased by the CHP crashed into an AC Transit Bus, which then caused the bus to plow into a home on the corner of 10th and Market streets.
The crash in Oakland happened on October 15.
The California Highway Patrol said that the silver Toyota involved was a stolen car.
According to AC Transit, the car ran a red light, striking the bus and causing it to veer off the street. Two people on the bus, as well as the driver, complained of pains. Also, the four occupants in the Toyota were injured.
Meanwhile, the homeowner, Daryl Meshack, wasn’t hurt, but he said he was upstairs in his home at the time of the crash.
Moreover, one of the women injured on the bus was also a resident of the neighborhood. EMS took her to the hospital with head injuries.
Meshack was left with a gaping hole in his house.
Further investigation is ongoing.
