69-Year-Old Motorcyclist Injured in Coronado Avenue Collision [South County, CA]

South County, CA (April 22, 2022) – On Thursday evening, a 69-year-old motorcyclist sustained injuries in a Coronado Avenue collision.

The traffic accident took place at about 6:50 p.m. east of Imperial Beach.

Officers said the motorcycle rider was eastbound near 16th Street on a 2003 Honda Shadow.

As the motorcyclist approached the intersection, a 2002 Toyota Corolla driven by a 64-year-old man in the opposite direction made a turn in front of the motorcyclist. 

As a result, the rider hit the car as it drove into his path.

Right away, the rescuers took the rider to a hospital with non-fatal injuries but with multiple leg breaks. 

Luckily, the Toyota’s driver and his two passengers did not sustain injuries from the collision.

Officers said neither drugs nor alcohol were considered factors in this traffic collision.
