69-Year-Old Man Killed after Struck by Vehicle at Locust Avenue and Hockett Street [PORTERVILLE, CA]

Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Pickup Truck on Locust Avenue in Porterville

 
PORTERVILLE, CA (November 13, 2019) – A 69-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening at an intersection in Porterville.
 
The crash happened around 7:44 p.m. at Locust Avenue and Hockett Street.
 
According to police, a woman driving a GMC Sierra was heading westbound on Locust Avenue when she turned north onto Hockett Street. She then hit a male pedestrian that was crossing the street.
 
Arriving units found the pedestrian lying in the roadway with fatal injuries. The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The woman was not injured. She stayed and cooperated with the investigation.
 
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have played a part in the incident. Authorities urged any witnesses to contact Sergeant Jordan or Corporal Calloway at 559-782-7400.
