Fatal Crash on Highway 178 Injures One
Bakersfield, CA (October 13, 2021) – On Tuesday, a Ford Explorer driver, a 68-year-old woman from Wofford Heights suffered injuries in a fatal crash on Highway 178.
The incident took place at around 5:15 p.m. at the top of the Kern River Canyon.
Officers said a 25-year-old man was westbound on the freeway when he drifted into the shoulder. He forced his vehicle to go into the other lane, however, he struck a Ford Explorer head on.
Unfortunately, he died at the scene.
The Ford Explorer driver sustained minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the authorities are still investigating the crash. They said drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the incident.
