Pedestrian Fatally Struck by SUV on South Mission Road in Fallbrook
FALLBROOK, CA (November 26, 2019) – A 68-year-old Westminster man was killed in a pedestrian crash Tuesday night in Fallbrook.
The fatal incident happened around 6:35 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Mission Road in front of the Rodeway Inn, a little north of Rocky Crest Road.
According to the authorities, the man was crossing South Mission Road when a 2013 GMC Yukon struck him. Responding paramedics performed CPR on the victim, then took him to a hospital.
Despite life-saving efforts, the man died shortly after 8:00 p.m. His name was not immediately available pending notification of his family members.
The 78-year-old driver of the SUV stopped and cooperated with investigators.
Authorities said the driver was not under the influence of any substances.
The roadway was closed near the crash site until around 10:00 p.m.
