65-year-old Mila Sarmiento Killed in I-5 Wrong-Way Collision
Everett, WA (February 20, 2022) – On Saturday, 67-year-old Wilfrido Sarmiento and 65-year-old Mila Sarmiento lost their lives in a DUI crash on Interstate 5.
It was about 1 a.m. when the collision took place on the freeway’s southbound lanes.
Investigators say a 22-year-old Caleb Wride was driving his northbound vehicle in the southbound lanes.
As a result, Wride collided head-on with a Volkswagen Beetle driven by Wilfrido Sarmiento.
Unfortunately, Wilfrido Sarmiento and his passenger Mila Sarmiento, both died at the scene.
On the other hand, the paramedics rushed Wride to Providence Hospital.
Meanwhile, the authorities suspect Wride of driving under the influence. They will book him into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of vehicular homicide.
