San Diego Traffic Crash Results in Fatality
San Diego, CA (March 14, 2024) – A 67-year-old woman lost her life following a 3000 Florida Drive head-on crash Wednesday afternoon.
It was about 2:30 p.m. when the woman was driving a southbound 2009 Subaru Forester. At the same time, a 32-year-old man was driving a northbound 2014 Toyota Sienna van on the same road.
Suddenly, the male driver crossed over into the southbound lane and struck the Subaru Forester head-on. Officers said about 25% or less of the front of the van collided with the woman’s vehicle.
The medical rescuers rushed the injured woman to an area hospital, where she later died. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office withheld her identity pending notification of kin.
SDPD troopers do not believe alcohol played a role in the collision. Though they are still investigating.

Florida Drive Head-On Crash Under Investigation
Dealing with the aftermath of a vehicle crash can seem unimaginable.
Thus, it is good to know that you may file a legal claim if you were injured or have lost a loved one in the collision.
A possible legal claim may help you move forward when a crash irreparably impacts you or your family.
Significantly, a wrongful death claim holds parties liable for the irrevocable damages they have caused.
Moreover, knowing that each state has laws covering who can file a wrongful death suit on behalf of the deceased is helpful. These people are related to or depend financially on the person who died. The law usually allows the following people to file a wrongful death case:
- Surviving spouses;
- Domestic partners (registered domestic partnership);
- Children of the deceased;
- Financial dependents, parents, and minors under the care of the deceased;
- Personal representatives.
- These people can differ from state to state.
