Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Highway 245 in Woodlake
WOODLAKE, CA (September 16, 2019) – A 66-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash Monday afternoon in Tulare County.
The crash happened around 3:40 p.m. on Highway 245 at Boyd Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was riding his 1999 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was unable to negotiate a curve and allowed his bike to cross the northbound lane until it traveled off the east side of the roadway.
The motorcycle then entered a dirt crevice and struck a shallow embankment. The rider was ejected from the motorcycle which ultimately landed on top him on the east shoulder.
As a result, the man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.
Authorities did not release the identity of the deceased pending family notification.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
