Fatal Bicycle Accident in Yakima
Yakima, WA (June 12, 2022) – On Saturday, a 66-year-old female bicyclist lost her life in a fatal accident on Summitview Avenue.
Responding officers arrived at about around 10:30 a.m. and found the victim dead in the 11000 Block area.
According to the investigators, the bicyclist was westbound off the roadway near the fog line.
At the same time, a car was traveling in the same direction and it crossed over the line hitting the bicyclist.
Witness followed the vehicle that did not stop but they lost sight of it around the 13000 Block area. They say the vehicle is a maroon-colored GMC Sierra or Denali-style pickup. Troopers say the vehicle will have fresh damage on the front right side.
