1 Hurt in Pacific Beach Pedestrian Crash
PACIFIC BEACH, CA (February 10, 2020) – A 65-year-old man sustained serious injuries Thursday evening in a pedestrian crash on Grand Avenue.
According to reports, an elderly male was walking along the 2000 block of Grand Avenue around 7:00 p.m. Shortly after, an eastbound 1998 Honda Accord struck him in the No. 2 lane.
It is currently unclear why the male pedestrian ended up in the middle of the roadway at the time of the collision. However, an investigation to determine further details is underway.
Furthermore, the pedestrian hit the Honda’s windshield upon impact, and suffered serious fractures in his pelvis and femur. Responders took him to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, the 17-year-old driver of the Honda remained at the scene. Authorities later ruled out alcohol as a factor in this pedestrian accident on Grand Avenue.
