Two Pedestrian Accidents on York Boulevard and Munson Avenue Severely Injures Senior Citizen
Eagle Rock, CA (August 8, 2020) – On Monday, a 75-year-old man got severely injured in two pedestrian accidents on York Boulevard and Munson Avenue.
The accident happened at about 10 p.m. on August 3 in the Highland Park area when the victim was walking in an unmarked crosswalk, says the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim was struck by a motorcyclist traveling west on York Boulevard before he could reach the curb. The victim fell into the ground. However, the motorcyclist immediately fled the scene and did not render aid.
Authorities said witnesses helped the victim and called for an ambulance, but he was not removed from the street.
A second vehicle struck the victim while he was still on the street. Also, the second driver did not stop to help him.
Witnesses tried to stop the second driver but they were not successful.
Rescuers came and rushed the victim to a hospital with non-fatal severe injuries. He is now in stable condition.
$25,000 Reward for the Drivers’ Arrest
Meanwhile, authorities obtained a video of the motorcycle involved in the first crash. It is described as green, and the motorcyclist was wearing a green helmet. Though, they do not have any details about the second vehicle and its driver as of yet.
Moreover, authorities are asking the people who chased the second vehicle, or anyone with details about the accident to call Detective Juan Campos at 213-833-3713, or the central traffic division watch commander at 213-486-3713.
Police are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the drivers.
