State Route 20 Fatal Traffic Collision

Mount Vernon, WA (September 26, 2022) – On Sunday night, a 64-year-old motorcycle rider from Blaine lost his life in a Laconner Whitney Road collision.

According to the authorities, the 64-year-old motorcyclist was northbound on Laconner Whitney Road and drove through a green light at the intersection with State Route 20.

Another motorcyclist, a 30-year-old man from Snohomish was eastbound on SR 20. Unfortunately, he failed to stop at the red light and fatally struck the 64-year-old motorcyclist.

Moreover, the Snohomish man sustained injuries and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Officers said both drivers had motorcycle endorsements and were wearing Department of Transportation-compliant helmets during the accident.
