Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on East Vista Way
VISTA, CA (November 19, 2019) – A 63-year-old man died in a pedestrian crash Tuesday morning near Brengle Terrace Park in Vista.
Around 5:45 a.m., the man was crossing East Vista Way mid-block east of Townsite Drive when a northbound vehicle hit him, officials said.
Paramedics responded to the scene and took the man to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim’s name was not immediately available. He was reportedly not walking in the crosswalk.
The 42-year-old motorist stopped and cooperated with authorities. He was not believed to have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident.
The Vista Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
