Driver Arrested in Kitsap County Collision
Kitsap County, WA (January 22, 2022) – On Friday, a 62-year-old male cyclist from Poulsbo died in a Central Valley Road Northeast hit-and-run crash.
Officers responded to the crash scene at 12:48 p.m. to the 8000 block area.
When they arrived at the location, officers found the unresponsive victim lying on the ground.
Immediately, they provided lifesaving measures but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Moreover, the investigators said the victim was southbound on his bike when a Jeep Cherokee struck him.
The involved driver fled the scene right after the accident.
Luckily, the officers later found the involved vehicle at a parking lot of an apartment complex on Northeast Fairgrounds Road at 1:39 p.m.
Officers arrested the 28-year-old man and booked him into the Kitsap County Jail for vehicular homicide and felony hit-and-run.
