Female Victim Hospitalized after Seattle Pedestrian Accident
SEATTLE, WA (November 9, 2019) – A 60-year-old woman suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian accident on Columbia Street.
According to reports, a Ford Escape struck a 60-year-old female pedestrian in a marked crosswalk. Officers arrived around 6:00 p.m., on 4th Avenue and Columbia Street.
Preliminary investigation reports revealed that the Ford’s driver turned right from westbound Columbia Avenue onto northbound 4th Avenue when the collision occurred.
Emergency responders took the woman to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment of potentially life-threatening injuries. Her identity has not yet been released at this time.
Furthermore, the 62-year-old male driver stayed on scene and cooperated with officials. Authorities later evaluated him for any signs of impairment. However, drugs and alcohol were not factors.
Meanwhile, the woman is currently being held in intensive care. Additionally, medics also say she is still in critical condition.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while a preliminary investigation was conducted. However, authorities are still investigating the details of the crash.
