SUV Fatally Struck Pedestrian on Calle Joaquin in San Luis Obispo
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (December 4, 2019) – A 60-year-old woman was killed in a pedestrian crash Wednesday morning in San Luis Obispo.
The crash happened around 6:40 a.m. at Calle Joaquin and Los Osos Valley Road.
According to police, the woman was crossing Los Osos Valley Road near or in the crosswalk when an SUV struck her.
Firefighters arrived and found the woman lying in the roadway and was unresponsive. They began providing medical assistance and transported the patient to a hospital, where the victim was pronounced dead.
Authorities did not release the woman’s identity pending family notification.
The driver of the SUV, a 45-year-old woman, remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police said she was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash.
Authorities spent several hours investigating at the scene of the crash, causing traffic backups in the area.
