Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Linda Vista Road in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 7, 2019) – A 60-year-old man was struck and killed by a car Saturday evening in the Clairemont Mesa East neighborhood, police said.
The fatal incident happened around 10:24 p.m. in the 7600 block of Linda Vista Road.
According to authorities, the man dressed in dark clothing walked in front of a Ford Escape SUV that was traveling northbound.
Arriving units found the pedestrian lying facedown with no vital signs, police said. Paramedics pronounced the unidentified victim dead at the scene.
The driver, a 28-year-old man, stopped and cooperated with authorities.
Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash and no charges have been filed at this time.
The SDPD’s Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
