Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Pedestrian Crash near Baker Street
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 3, 2018) – A pedestrian was seriously injured Wednesday evening following a hit-and-run collision on Oak Street. The identity of the 60-year-old victim was not released to the public.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the incident took place at about 9:10 PM near Baker Street. A dark-colored Toyota Prius was heading east on Oak when it ran a red light at the intersection of Baker. There, it struck the pedestrian, who was crossing in a marked crosswalk.
The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the San Francisco General for treatment. Updates on his current medical condition were not immediately available.
Witnesses claimed that the Prius driver briefly stopped at the scene and exited the vehicle. However, the driver later fled eastbound on Oak Street to southbound Broderick Street. Anyone with information is asked to call the SFPD at (415) 575-4444.
