Six People Hurt after Goleta Rollover Crash on Highway 101
GOLETA, CA (August 14, 2019) – Six people sustained injuries in a rollover accident on Highway 101 involving an SUV on Monday, August 12.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 2:30 p.m., in the northbound lanes. Dispatchers arrived near the Los Carneros Road off-ramp.
Fire Department officials say the SUV left the roadway, narrowly missing a grove of trees. After that, it collided into a chain-link fence.
Three adults and four children — two boys and two girls — were the occupants of the car when the incident happened.
One of the boys sustained major injuries before an AMR ambulance transported him to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. The other boy and the female driver suffered moderate injuries.
One of the girls had minor injuries and paramedics brought her to Cottage Hospital for further treatment.
The other two adults — a man and a woman — suffered minor injuries and received treatments at the scene.
Names and conditions of the injured were not immediately released.
Traffic in the area backed up while emergency personnel gave treatments the injured and officials remove the wreckage.
The incident is still under investigation by the CHP.
