6 Hurt in Santa Maria Valley Crash on Highway 166 and Highway 101

 
SANTA MARIA VALLEY, CA (December 13, 2020) – Saturday afternoon, six people suffered injuries in an accident on Highway 166 and Highway 101.
 
The authorities received a report of the crash at about 2:15 p.m. Then, responders came to Highway 166, 20 miles from Highway 101. The CAL FIRE, Santa Maria Fire, and Los Padres National Forest personnel came to the scene, together with a CalStar helicopter.
 
According to County Fire, responders found a passenger van around 50 feet down in the riverbed.
 
Six people suffered injuries, two of them had serious injuries. Meanwhile, one suffered moderate while the other three sustained minor injuries.
 
Also, responders took one of the seriously injured patients to Cottage Hospital by CalStar copter. Meanwhile, a ground ambulance transported the other one.
 
Also, the remaining victims were taken to Marian Regional Medical Center.
 
Reports revealed that the vehicle was heading west. Then, it tried to pass another car on the highway when the driver went off the eastbound side of the road.
 
Due to the limited information available, the crash remains under active investigation.
