Baby Ivory Gerald Dies, Four Critical after Two-Vehicle Crash on 7th Street and Buckeye Road in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (August 29, 2021) – Saturday night, a 6-month-old child identified as Ivory Gerald died and four other sustained critical injuries after a two-vehicle crash on 7th Street and Buckeye Road.

The fatal crash in Phoenix happened at around 9 p.m on August 28. 

Phoenix Police said a Ford and GMC truck crashed into each other causing one of the trucks to flip over.

There were five people, including two children, in the rolled-over GMC truck. A 6-month-old girl did not survive her injuries. 

Moreover, the other four passengers, including a 3-year-old girl, a 23-year-old man and woman, and a 51-year-old woman are now suffering from critical injuries at the hospital.

Detectives said the driver of the Ford pickup truck, who refused to be taken to the hospital, had been driving southbound down 7th Street when he ran a red light, colliding into the other truck.

Police say impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

Further investigation into this fatal incident in 7th Street and Buckeye Road is ongoing.
