6 Hospitalized in Car Accident in Garden Grove
GARDEN GROVE, CA (January 19, 2019) – On Saturday night, six people were injured in a multiple vehicle collision on Westminster Avenue.
According to Garden Grove Police Department, the incident occurred around 11:00 PM near Newhope Street. As per reports, officers received multiple calls about a four car collision. The cause of the accident is currently unknown.
Garden Grove Fire Department used the jaws of life and other power tools to extricate the driver of an overturned SUV. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to free the victim.
Six occupants, including the trapped driver, were treated on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but has since reopened. No further details have been released regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released to the public.
