Jose Rangel Dies in Stolen Amazon Truck Crash on 48th Street [Los Angeles, CA]

Los Angeles, CA (February 18, 2022) On Thursday Jose Rangel died in a stolen Amazon truck that crashed into a building on 48th Street.

Police say that the fatal hit-and-run accident happened around 2 p.m. on 48th Street and Main Street.

Moreover, 2 other people were injured in the crash, one of them is Gustavo Reyes a fellow vendor of Rangel.

Authorities say that 37-year-old Cristian Ramos Sanchez of Los Angeles was the suspect driver on the stolen Amazon van.

The van stolen on Woodland Avenue crashed into a building on Main Street after the driver lost control.

Consequently, the van struck several parked vehicles then struck the victims, and finally hit the building.

The crash pinned Rangel and he died on the scene.

Meanwhile, Sanchez fled from the scene and was caught afterward. Witnesses followed him and directed the police to his location.

Authorities say that Amazon has recovered packages at the crash site for delivery by its other drivers.

Furthermore, Sanchez is booked for felony hit and run.
