55-Year-Old Woman Dies in Interstate 15 Hit-and-Run Collision [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (September 24, 2021) – On Thursday, a 55-year-old woman dies, and officers arrested a driver in a fatal Interstate 15 hit-and-run collision.

The fatal crash took place before 2 a.m. at Ted Williams Parkway and State Route 56.

Investigating officers said a 30-year-old man was driving a Ford pickup when he crashed with a Toyota sedan driven by a 55-year-old woman.

The Ford pick-up became disabled within the traffic lanes when it was hit by a Kia Sedan driven by a 51-year-old Desert Hot Springs man.

The involved Ford driver fled the scene on foot. The San Diego Police Department found him after an extensive search 

Unfortunately, the woman in the Toyota sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the accident scene. 

The rescuers took the Kia driver to Scripps La Jolla Hospital with minor injuries.
