55-Year-Old Pedestrian Injured in Accident on Highway 101 [Santa Maria, CA]

Santa Maria, CA (February 12, 2022) – On Friday, a 55-year-old male pedestrian was Injured in accident on Highway 101.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene at around 1:12 p.m., on the northbound freeway, north of Highway 166.

Officers said the pedestrian was walking on the shoulder of the northbound lanes. Then, the pedestrian walked into the road in a westerly direction.

A Santa Maria driver tried to swerve out of the way, but still struck the pedestrian.

Right away, the paramedics took the victim to the hospital with moderate injuries. He sustained cuts to his head and knee pain.

Officers are investigating the scene.
