55-Year-Old Dead in Bakersfield Multi-Vehicle Accident on 7th Standard Road
WASCO, CA (March 4, 2020) – A 55-year-old man was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on 7th Standard Road on Tuesday, March 3.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash involved a big-rig, truck, and car. Emergency personell arrived on 7th Standard Road at Wasco Avenue.
Officers later revealed that the big-rig traveled east while two vehicles were stationed west near the big-rig. Meanwhile, a 2015 Mercedes veered into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on with the big-rig for unknown reasons.
The crash led the Mercedes to spin out of control back into the westbound lane, where it then crashed into a utility truck driving behind it.
As a result, the male driver in the 2015 Mercedes succumbed to his injuries on scene. Moreover, the driver and passenger in the big-rig remained uninjured, as well as the driver and two passengers in the utility truck.
The Kern County Fire Department, Kern County Sheriff’s Office, and CHP all responded to the crash scene. Roads shut down for hours due to the crash. However, the area has since reopened.
