Fatal Collision at Sprague Avenue East Injures Driver
Tacoma, WA (September 16, 2022) – Earlier today, a 51-year-old male motorcyclist from Grapeview, WA, sustained fatal injuries in a hit-and-run crash on State Route 16.
The fatal collision happened before 12:30 a.m. at Sprague Avenue East.
When the officers arrived at the scene, they located the motorcyclist dead while another driver was injured.
However, the third driver already fled the scene.
According to the officers, the hit-and-run suspect was driving west in the eastbound lanes of the freeway. As a result, the suspect’s vehicle collided head on into a motorcyclist and another car.
The paramedics took the second driver to St. Joseph Medical Center.
In the meantime, the WSP and the Tacoma Police Department are still searching for the suspect.
Officers added that the suspect in the collision at Sprague Avenue was driving a white 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
There is no information if the suspect ditched their car and fled on foot. Also, it is still unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved in the fatal incident.
