Deadly Crash Involving an SUV and Pickup Truck on Highway 168 in Fresno County
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (December 16, 2019) – A 50-year-old woman was killed in a traffic accident Monday morning in Fresno County.
The fatal crash happened around 11:30 a.m. on Highway 168, also known as Tollhouse Road, at Academy Oaks Lane.
According to witnesses, the woman was stop at the stop sign on Academy Oaks Lane, a private gated community driveway. She did not see an oncoming pickup truck and pulled out in front of it.
The pickup hit the woman’s SUV directly in the driver’s side door. The impact sent both vehicles off the road.
First responders provided aid and then loaded the woman on to a life flight helicopter but she did not survive.
The driver of the pickup only sustained minor injuries.
Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor. The crash is still under investigation.
