2 Hospitalized in Pierce County Fatal Collision
Pierce County, WA (November 27, 2023) – A 50-year-old Spanaway man died and two others were injured following a State Route 7 stolen vehicle crash early Sunday morning.
The fatal collision happened around 2:55 a.m. at 211th St Ct E involving a silver 1999 Toyota Camry and a red 2021 Kia Sportage.
Investigating officers said the 50-year-old man and his passenger, also 50, were southbound on the freeway.
At the same time, a 14-year-old driver was traveling in the same direction.
Officers said the Spanaway man attempted to make a U-turn across all lanes but the teen crashed into him.
Unfortunately, the Spanaway man was declared deceased at the scene.
The female passenger was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma while the teen driver was taken to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma.
Investigators said all parties involved in the collision were not wearing seatbelts.
Troopers are investigating.
